Medical teams launch preventive cardiology screenings in Niš district villages

Medical teams from the University Clinical Center Niš and the Niška Banja Institute are conducting a series of preventive cardiology screenings across rural villages in the Niš district. The initiative aims to bring specialized healthcare directly to residents in remote areas, such as Prćilovica and Prosek, to ensure that geographic location does not limit access to essential medical services.

To date, the campaign has examined over 1,500 patients. In recent sessions, medical staff provided immediate health assessments, offered guidance for further treatment, and utilized a telephone service to help citizens schedule additional diagnostic procedures. Acting director of UKC Niš, doc. dr Milan Lazarević, emphasized that the program is designed to provide continuous care and follow-up rather than just one-time examinations.

The mobile medical units are scheduled to continue their outreach to various villages within the district to reach more vulnerable populations.
