Croatia ambulance shot on A3 highway, injuring technician

A 35-year-old medical technician was injured after a bullet pierced the side window of an ambulance traveling on the A3 highway in Croatia. The incident occurred on the section between Lužan and Slavonski Brod while the emergency team was transporting patients from Nova Gradiška to Slavonski Brod.

The driver managed to safely stop the vehicle and provide first aid to the colleague, who sustained a wound to the hand. The injured technician was taken to the General Hospital in Slavonski Brod, where a deformed projectile was removed. Following medical treatment, the technician was released for home care.

Ballistics expert Rade Stojadinović stated that the ambulance was likely not a deliberate target. He noted that the bullet appeared to be at the end of its trajectory and was likely fired from a long-barreled weapon, such as a hunting rifle, from a distance of two to three kilometers. Police are conducting a criminal investigation to identify the shooter and determine the caliber of the ammunition.
