Medical treatment for 33-year-old man with central hypogonadism
A 33-year-old man, identified as Ng. H., has undergone medical treatment for central hypogonadism after experiencing a lack of physical development and sexual function throughout his life. Seeking help at the Reproductive Support Center of Tam Anh General Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, the patient reported that his physical characteristics, such as muscle mass and voice, had not changed significantly since puberty.
Medical examinations revealed that his testosterone, LH, and FSH hormone levels were extremely low, and his testicular volume was significantly below the adult average. Doctors diagnosed him with central hypogonadism, a condition where the hypothalamus and pituitary gland fail to send sufficient endocrine signals to the testes to produce male hormones and sperm.
To address both his physical development and his desire to father a child, medical specialists, including Dr. Duong Quang Huy and Dr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, have implemented a treatment plan using gonadotropin hormones rather than simple testosterone supplementation to stimulate sperm production.
