Medical universities launch advanced simulation training centers
Educational institutions in Bolivia and Spain are expanding their medical training capabilities through new high-tech simulation facilities.
In Santa Cruz, the Universidad Privada Franz Tamayo (Unifranz) has inaugurated the Advanced Center for Simulation and Health Training (CASES). With an investment exceeding $150,000, the center provides controlled clinical environments for students in medicine, nursing, biochemistry, pharmacy, and dentistry to practice emergencies, childbirth, surgeries, and intensive care without risking real patients. The facility is expected to serve over 1,000 students and will be open to professionals from other universities.
In Oviedo, Spain, the Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio (UAX) is launching a new 20,000-square-meter campus in the Calatrava building. Representing a 40-million-euro investment, the campus features a virtual simulation hospital, specialized laboratories, and advanced classrooms. The center will initially host approximately 240 medicine and nursing students, focusing on digital health, telemedicine, and predictive medicine. The project aims to generate roughly 250 direct jobs and support the regional healthcare ecosystem.
