Medical vehicle involved in accident in Diamante

An emergency medical vehicle was involved in a road accident on the SS18 near a roundabout in Diamante, Calabria, while responding to a medical emergency. The vehicle, which departed from Cetraro to provide medical support for a woman suffering a cardiac arrest, collided with another vehicle.

The medical crew, consisting of a doctor, a nurse, and a driver, sustained minor injuries. The doctor was reported to have no injuries, while the nurse and driver were treated at the Cetraro hospital for wounds expected to heal within seven days. The occupants of the other vehicle involved in the collision were unharmed.

The initial medical emergency resulted in the death of a woman at her home due to a probable cardiac arrest. Local authorities are investigating the dynamics of the collision, and Anas personnel managed traffic flow at the scene to minimize disruptions.
