Medicana Hospital executives allege 8 million dollar bribery in Şişli
During a court hearing in Istanbul regarding an alleged criminal organization involving Ekrem İmamoğlu, executives from the Medicana Hospitals Group provided testimony concerning an 8 million dollar bribery scheme.
Hüseyin Bozkurt and Mehmet Fatih Bozkurt testified that they were pressured to pay 8 million dollars to secure architectural project approvals for a hospital building in Şişli. According to the testimony, 4 million dollars was paid as a donation to the Şişli Municipality, while the remaining 4 million dollars was delivered in cash to city planner Adem Altıntaş.
The defendants stated that Şişli Deputy Mayor İlker Çelebi directed them to Altıntaş. Hüseyin Bozkurt also testified that after meeting with Ekrem İmamoğlu to discuss their difficulties, İmamoğlu referred them to Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, stating that the authority lay with the district mayor.
