Medici Brands hits $2.25bn valuation with $250m Series B

Medici Brands, the parent company of David Protein, has secured $250 million in a Series B funding round, reaching a valuation of $2.25 billion. The investment round was co-led by Greenoaks and Valor Equity Partners, with additional participation from ICONIQ, Imaginary Ventures, and Medici CEO Peter Rahal.

The capital is intended to drive expansion into new product lines and brands, including the launch of the candy brand HallPass and a new chip brand called Rowdy. These products utilize EPG, a patented ingredient acquired by the company during its $75 million Series A round in 2025, which functions similarly to fat but with significantly fewer calories.

David Protein has transitioned from a direct-to-consumer model to a major retail presence, with listings in 35,000 stores including Walmart, Target, and Costco. The company expects to achieve profitability by 2026 and is projected to generate more than $300 million in revenue this year.
