Medicover Hospitals launches advanced TMS Lab in Navi Mumbai

Medicover Hospitals has launched an advanced Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Laboratory in Navi Mumbai, India. The facility provides non-invasive brain stimulation for various psychiatric and neurological conditions, including treatment-resistant depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), PTSD, and migraine. The lab also targets neurological applications such as stroke rehabilitation, Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Research into brain stimulation techniques continues to explore efficacy. A study published in Brain Stimulation examined a novel combination of Bright Light Therapy (BLT) and rTMS for patients with severe treatment-resistant Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). In a small study of six adults who had failed multiple antidepressant medications and psychotherapy, the combination therapy resulted in a 100% response rate and a 50% remission rate, with significant reductions in Hamilton Depression Rating Scale scores.
