Medieval festivals draw crowds in Olite and Cortegana

Various towns in Spain have concluded their annual medieval festivals, drawing significant crowds and celebrating historical heritage through artisan markets and themed spectacles.

In Olite, the XXXII edition of the Medieval Festivals concluded with activities recreating the 15th-century reign of Carlos III the Noble. The Royal Palace of Olite served as a central hub for an artisan market featuring jewelry, craft beer, soaps, and traditional foods, including authentic Cantabrian pastries. Local and visiting artisans showcased crafts ranging from ceramics and silver jewelry to medieval weaponry such as shields and armor.

Meanwhile, Cortegana hosted its XXIX Medieval Days, which saw record-breaking attendance. Mayor María del Mar Martín reported that the event exceeded 60,000 visitors. The festival, themed ‘The Capture of the Eclipse,’ featured diverse musical and artistic programming across the town's streets and plazas, concluding with a large-scale spectacle near the local castle.
