Medimus Medieval Music Festival begins in Prizren

The 11th Medimus International Medieval Music Festival has commenced in Prizren. The event takes place in the atrium of the 14th-century Church of Saint Savior.

Over two festival evenings, various ensembles will perform, including Analogion, Leones, and Manticora. The participating musicians hail from Germany, France, Italy, and the United States. The Italian ensemble Manticora, led by Pepe Frana and coming from Naples, is scheduled to close the festival on Sunday, August 30.

The festival is dedicated to Dragana Prizrenac, a renowned 14th-century musician. Organizers aim to showcase the medieval musical heritage of Prizren, a city noted for its layered musical traditions. Admission to the festival is free. Additionally, a photography exhibition by Danko Strahinjić and El Gwojos, documenting previous editions of the festival, is open at the Prizren Art Club until September 12.
