Medián survey reveals levels of public trust in Hungarian institutions
A representative survey conducted by Medián, commissioned by the Hungarian National Chamber of Notaries, reveals varying levels of public trust in Hungarian institutions and political figures.
Government offices enjoy the highest level of trust, with 82 percent of respondents expressing moderate to high confidence. Parliamentary representatives follow at 72 percent, and notaries at 70 percent. In terms of service quality, at least 85 percent of those who used notary, legal, or government office services rated their experience positively. Conversely, banks and courts received the lowest levels of trust, with many respondents describing court proceedings as slow and cumbersome.
Demographics play a role in these perceptions; younger citizens (aged 18–29) and those with at least a high school education show higher trust in notaries, lawyers, and parliamentarians. Trust in courts and banks also correlates with higher education levels.
Political affiliation significantly impacts trust in parliamentary representatives. On a 100-point scale, trust among Fidesz supporters stands at 41, while trust among Tisza Party supporters reaches 81.
