Medina del Campo begins traditional Renaissance Week
The town of Medina del Campo in Valladolid has launched its traditional Renaissance Week, marked by the opening of a historical market in the Plaza Mayor and surrounding streets. The festivities include various cultural activities such as falconry exhibitions, Renaissance music, workshops, and dances.
A central highlight of the inauguration was the parade of the Court of the Catholic Monarchs, which traveled from the Royal Testamentary Palace of Isabella the Catholic to the Plaza Mayor. To coincide with the market's opening, Marian Riñones Cañizo, president of the Cultural Association Amigos del Desembarco de Carlos V El Palenque, was appointed as the Aposentadora Mayor of the fair.
The market and associated festivities are scheduled to continue through Sunday night.
