Medinah Country Club to host 16th Presidents Cup

The 16th edition of the biennial Presidents Cup is set to take place at Medinah Country Club’s No. 3 Course near Chicago. The competition features twelve players from Team USA and twelve from the International Team competing for a 24-carat gold-plated sterling silver trophy.

The tournament format consists of 30 matches over four days, including Foursomes, Four-ball, and Singles play. In Foursomes, pairs share one ball and alternate shots, while in Four-ball, each player plays their own ball.

Historically, the United States has dominated the event, winning 13 of the previous 15 editions. Analysts note that the American team holds advantages in driving and putting statistics, while the International Team shows strength in strokes gained: approach. The Medinah No. 3 course has undergone a recent redesign featuring larger greens, expanded bunkers, and wider fairways to prepare for the event.
