Medisum launches DietTalk AI obesity management platform
Medical AI startup Medisum has officially launched DietTalk, an AI-driven obesity management platform designed to bridge the care gap between clinical visits for Korean medicine practitioners.
Addressing the challenge of monitoring patients during the 2-to-4-week intervals between appointments, DietTalk allows patients to record ten types of daily data, including diet, weight, activity, sleep, and medication adherence, via a mobile app. The AI analyzes this data to generate draft reports containing body composition changes and goal suggestions. To ensure medical reliability, these reports are sent to the practitioner's dashboard for review and approval before being delivered to the patient via KakaoTalk.
The platform's design incorporates the treatment response evaluation principles from the 9th revised edition of the Korean Society for the Study of Obesity's clinical guidelines. Medisum aims to create a continuous care cycle by integrating DietTalk with its previous product, Jema Aigent, which assists with in-clinic consultations. This integration allows in-clinic records to inform outpatient management, with patient lifestyle data subsequently feeding back into future clinical visits.
