Mediterranean Dialogues Documentary Festival returns to Samos

The 4th Mediterranean Dialogues Documentary Festival is scheduled to take place in Karlovasi, Samos, from September 24 to 27, 2026. The event will be centered at the fully renovated Old Customs House in the port of Karlovasi.

The festival features 21 documentaries from seven Mediterranean countries: Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Cyprus, Palestine, and Turkey. The program is organized by the Collective Management and Protection of Film Producers' Rights Organization, Ermeia, in collaboration with the Municipality of West Samos and the School of Positive Sciences at the University of the Aegean. It is supported by the Hellenic Film Center (EKKOMED) and ERT.

This non-competitive festival aims to use documentary film as a tool for understanding the modern world, connecting personal and collective histories. The program includes thematic sections such as Landscapes of Memory, Human Stories, Earth in the Foreground, and Musical Roads. Special tributes will be held for Greek creators, including Dimitris Makris and Dimitris Koutsiampsakos, the latter of whom will also conduct a masterclass titled ‘Documentary. Some Thoughts’.
