MedLife begins study on walking health effects along Via Transilvanica

MedLife, together with the Asociația Tășuleasa Social, announced the launch of Romania's first observational study conducted on the Via Transilvanica trail. The research will examine how long‑distance walking influences physical and emotional health, applying the "Good Stress" (eustress) concept that proposes controlled physical and mental challenges can boost resilience. Participants will be monitored for biological markers as well as wellbeing indicators such as energy levels, perceived stress and emotional state. The initiative follows a recent national survey by MedLife that revealed high sedentary behavior among Romanians, limited long‑distance walking, and a general awareness of the physical benefits of walking but limited knowledge of its emotional impact. By collecting real‑world data, the study aims to contribute to preventive medicine and lifestyle research in Romania.
