Medly AI raises seed funding to expand AI-powered tutoring platform
Edtech startup Medly AI has secured seed funding, reported as approximately £6 million or $8 million, to expand its AI-powered exam preparation platform. The investment round was led by Felix Capital, with participation from existing investors Eka Ventures and Ada Ventures, alongside several angel investors.
Founded by UCL medicine graduates Dr Paul Jung and Dr Kavi Samra, the platform utilizes a proprietary combination of seven large language models integrated with neuroscience and teaching theory. The AI tutor is designed to provide personalized academic support by tracking student progress, intuiting learning styles, and offering tailored feedback. Features include handwriting recognition for subjects like mathematics and chemistry.
Since its launch in February 2025, Medly AI has reported over 400,000 users in the UK. The company aims to increase accessibility to personalized tutoring, which is often a financial barrier for students from low-income backgrounds. Medly is currently conducting a trial with more than 1,000 students to assess its impact on academic attainment.
