Dmitri Medvedev says West testing Russia with about 30,000 sanctions

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitri Medvedev told a youth educational forum, “Territory of Meaning,” in Solnechnogorsk, Moscow region, that Western countries are presently testing Russia’s strength both economically and politically. He said roughly 30,000 sanctions have been imposed on the Russian Federation since the war in Ukraine began – a number he described as unprecedented in history.

Medvedev added that the West is using Ukraine as a “ram” to try to weaken or destroy Russia and complained that Western opponents have constantly sought to destabilise the Russian state. He said the massive sanctions package represents a threatening political pressure from all sides and that the West’s attempts to force Russia to comply have failed.
