Meenakshi Seshadri revisits iconic Bollywood dance and A.R. Rahman song on Indian TV

On July 30, 2026 veteran actress Meenakshi Seshadri appeared on Sony Entertainment Television’s “India’s Best Dancer” Season 5, where she praised a contemporary performance of the classic Bollywood track “Jaane Do Mujhe Jaana Hai” from the 1988 film Shahenshah. She recalled filming the song with Amitabh Bachchan, noting it featured one of the first hot‑air‑balloon sequences in Indian cinema and describing the challenges of shooting the scene.

In the same episode she also performed a rendition of A.R. Rahman’s 1994 Tamil song “Anjali Anjali” from the film Duet, describing it as a “divine offering” to lovers of music and dance. She mentioned that the original video was shot in Visakhapatnam and highlighted the song’s lasting popularity on reality‑TV competitions.
