Meera domestic worker retracts assault allegations

Pakistani actress Meera is at the center of a social media controversy following the viral circulation of CCTV footage appearing to show a confrontation with her domestic worker, Yasmeen. While initial videos showed Yasmeen alleging physical assault and displaying injuries, she has since released a statement denying the incident occurred, claiming the circulating video is ‘AI-generated’.

Police officials in Lahore have clarified that the footage is not recent, dating back to June 2026. Authorities confirmed the matter was previously investigated and resolved mutually between both parties. According to official records, Yasmeen provided statements indicating she did not wish to pursue legal action.

Additionally, Meera had filed a complaint against Yasmeen for alleged theft, which was subsequently withdrawn after the items were returned. The police inquiry concluded without formal legal proceedings as the dispute was settled privately.
