Meerut delivery agent assaulted by customer over five-minute delay

A delivery agent named Amit Yadav was allegedly assaulted by a resident at the Ganga Heights apartment complex in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, following a reported five-minute delay in delivering an order.

CCTV footage of the incident, which occurred around 9:30 PM on August 14, 2026, shows a verbal confrontation between the agent and a man. The footage depicts the man snatching the agent’s mobile phone and physically assaulting him with slaps and kicks. The victim was reportedly taken inside the apartment, where the assault continued for several minutes before he was seen exiting the building.

In response to the incident, more than 20 delivery workers staged a protest at the Bhawanpur police station, demanding the arrest of the accused and better safety measures. The workers also temporarily suspended order deliveries in protest.

Local police have identified the individuals involved and are investigating the matter. Authorities are currently obtaining a formal complaint from the victim to register a case under relevant legal sections.
