Meerut police arrest woman and lover for alleged murder of husband

Police in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, have arrested a woman and her lover for the alleged murder of her husband, Talib. According to investigators, the wife, Ilma, conspired with her lover, Aman—the owner of a beauty studio where she worked—to kill Talib by strangulation using a scarf.

Following the murder, the suspects reportedly attempted to pass the death off as natural causes and buried the body in a cemetery. The crime came to light after Talib’s brother discovered suspicious chat logs on the deceased’s mobile phone, which detailed the extramarital affair between Ilma and Aman.

Authorities are currently working to exhume the body for a post-mortem examination to confirm the exact cause of death. Both Ilma and Aman have been taken into custody as the investigation continues.
