Meerut police increase security near mosque after Hanuman Chalisa announcement

Police in Meerut have increased security and surveillance around a mosque in the Kesarganj Mandi area following an announcement by Pinky Chaudhary, national president of the Hindu Raksha Dal, to recite the Hanuman Chalisa near the mosque.

Additional police personnel have been deployed and patrolling has been intensified to maintain law and order and prevent potential unrest. Authorities are also monitoring social media activity and local developments as a precaution. The mosque's caretaker, Zubair, has approached the Senior Superintendent of Police to request action and ensure peace in the locality.

The security escalation follows an ongoing dispute regarding construction on the mosque's upper floor, which was halted approximately one month ago after complaints from local traders. The announcement of the recitation surfaced amid these existing tensions.
