Meerut police investigate Sub-Inspector's birthday celebration at outpost

A video circulating on social media has raised questions regarding police conduct at the Zakir Colony outpost in the Lohia Nagar police station area of Meerut. The footage shows Sub-Inspector Ankit celebrating his birthday by cutting a cake at the police outpost in the presence of several youths.

Concerns have been raised due to the presence of Abdul Rahman, a man identified by police as having two criminal cases registered against him. Rahman reportedly identifies himself as a metropolitan secretary for the AIMIM.

Senior police officials have taken cognizance of the viral video and assigned the investigation to CO Kotwali Sangram Singh. Authorities are currently investigating how the private celebration was permitted within the government premises and the nature of the relationship between the officer and the individuals in attendance.
