Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples addresses ecology and social justice in Rimini

The 47th edition of the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples in Rimini features various discussions regarding social, environmental, and religious responsibilities.

Acli Terra is hosting two consecutive sessions on August 25 focused on the relationship between agriculture and culture. These meetings will address environmental pedagogy, the blue economy, and the transformations occurring within the Mediterranean ecosystem, examining the link between traditional rural roots and modern sustainability needs.

Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, president of the Italian Episcopal Conference, addressed the assembly following a visit by the Pope. Zuppi emphasized the importance of community openness over isolation, criticizing a “culture of power” and calling for a rejection of arrogance and closed-off identities. He advocated for peace, social justice, and a rejection of profit-driven ideologies that contribute to inequality and environmental disasters.
