Meg Lanning and Marizanne Kapp headline WCPL overseas signings

Tournament organizers have confirmed the overseas player signings for the 2026 Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL), scheduled to take place in Barbados from September 5 to 17. The roster features numerous international stars from Australia, South Africa, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Ireland.

Former Australian captain Meg Lanning headlines the signings for the expansion franchise Jamaica Empress, joining Amy Hunter, Nonkululeko Mlaba, Syeda Aroob Shah, and Rosemary Mair. The Trinbago Knight Riders have secured South African all-rounder Marizanne Kapp, alongside Australian players Laura Harris and Madeline Penna, and Indian players Shikha Pandey and Yastika Bhatia.

Defending champions Barbados Tridents have announced four overseas players: New Zealanders Suzie Bates and Madeline Green, and Indian internationals Pooja Vastrakar and Kiran Navgire. The Guyana Amazon Warriors have signed a significant South African contingent including Shabnim Ismail, Chloe Tryon, Nadine de Klerk, and Tazmin Brits, as well as Australian Erin Burns.
