Pokémon GO Fest 2026 launches Mega Mewtwo X & Y in Super Mega Raids

The worldwide Pokémon GO Fest 2026 takes place on July 11‑12, offering a free, ticket‑less weekend of events. Players can participate in three daily Habitat Hours that focus on specific type groups and in Super Mega Raids where Mega Mewtwo X appears on Saturday and Mega Mewtwo Y on Sunday.

A timed "Genetic Mastery" special research lets trainers choose between the two Mega Mewtwo forms after completing six steps, granting the chosen form’s Mega Energy (7,500 energy for the first evolution). A separate Zeraora special research (“A Thunderous Discovery”) is also available, giving players a chance to catch the rare electric Pokémon.

Niantic provides up to 18 free raid passes (nine per day), halves the Stardust cost for Pokémon trades, and increases the odds of encountering shiny Pokémon during the event. Successful raids typically require large coordinated groups of high‑level trainers, and the new Mega Mewtwo forms feature higher base Attack stats and a dual Psychic‑Fighting typing.
