Mega MGC Coffee to debut in Hong Kong with Central shop this October
South Korean coffee chain Mega MGC Coffee is set to make its Hong Kong debut this October. The first location will be situated at G/F, 37 Cochrane Street in Central, occupying the former site of Indonesian Restaurant 1968.
Founded in 2015, the brand is known for its value-driven model, offering large drink sizes—often up to 24oz—and affordable pricing. In South Korea, the chain has grown to over 4,400 stores, catering largely to students and office workers with a menu that includes coffee, fruit drinks, smoothies, and desserts.
The brand is also recognized for its celebrity collaborations, having featured footballer Son Heung-min and K-pop groups such as NCT WISH and Super Junior in marketing campaigns. Local interest in the Hong Kong opening has focused on whether the brand will maintain its signature high cost-performance ratio and large portions.
