Powerball jackpot tops $630 million ahead of draw as Mega Millions reaches $800 million

The Powerball jackpot has risen to between $630 million and $663 million for the upcoming Monday drawing, with a cash option of roughly $277‑$290 million. No tickets matched the winning numbers in the previous draw, allowing the prize to roll over again. The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for July 29 at 10:59 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on the Powerball website.

Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot stands at $800 million, the tenth‑largest in the game's history, with a cash option of about $344 million for the Tuesday drawing. Both lotteries are sold in 45 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the United Kingdom, with tickets costing $2 for Powerball and $5 for Mega Millions. Odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million, while Mega Millions odds are 1 in 290 million. The expanding participation, including recent UK involvement, is expected to keep jackpots at record levels.
