Colombia and Panama coordinate border maintenance and trade

Colombia and Panama have completed technical maintenance and cleaning of the border marker located between Punta Cocalito and Punta Ardita in northern Chocó. The joint effort was led by the Juradó mayoralty and the Chepigana administration in Panama, with support from the Colombian Foreign Ministry.

In a related development for the region, Panama’s National Customs Authority has officially authorized formal and legal merchandise exchange with Juradó. This measure aims to mitigate local shortages and stimulate the economy through regulated cross-border trade. Additionally, local authorities confirmed that infrastructure work on the Juradó airport airstrip is being reactivated.
