Megan Knight named B.C. Conservative candidate for Surrey South
Megan Knight, the current mayor of White Rock, has been named the B.C. Conservative candidate for the Surrey South riding in the upcoming provincial election. Knight, who has served as a city councillor since 2014, will compete in the election scheduled for October 24.
Knight’s candidacy follows the announcement that Brent Chapman is moving to the OneBC party. Her run in Surrey South sets up a contest against Elenore Sturko, the leader of CentreBC and former Surrey South MLA.
The provincial snap election was called by NDP leader David Eby on September 22, citing concerns regarding the political landscape in the United States. The provincial vote will take place one week after the municipal elections on October 17.
