Megan Lee-Devlin appointed chief executive of HMCTS
Megan Lee-Devlin has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS). She will oversee the administration of criminal, civil, and family courts across England and Wales.
Lee-Devlin transitions to this role from her position as director general for justice services and transformation at the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). Her previous experience includes leading digital transformation efforts within the justice system and serving as the chief executive of the Central Digital and Data Office in the Cabinet Office. Her professional background also includes roles at IBM, PwC, and McKinsey & Company.
She succeeds Nick Goodwin, who has been appointed as the director general for policy at the Ministry of Justice. A key priority for the new chief executive will include leading the implementation of court reforms following the independent review conducted by Sir Brian Leveson.
