Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun anime adaptation set for 2027

The manga series ‘Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun’, serialized in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Friend, has been announced for a TV anime adaptation scheduled to broadcast in 2027. The story follows a youth romance between Hiro Momose, a girl prone to being bullied, and Kan Ikura, a model student who is secretly a former delinquent.

Production details include direction by Makoto Hoshino, series composition by Megumi Shimizu, and character design by Ruriko Watanabe. The animation will be produced by Studio Flad and Wow World. Two contrasting teaser visuals—one focusing on a romantic atmosphere and the other on a more intimidating delinquent theme—have been released alongside a promotional video. The original manga has surpassed 1 million copies in circulation.
