Megawati Soekarnoputri attends Erros Djarot autobiography launch

Megawati Soekarnoputri, the fifth President of Indonesia and Chairwoman of the PDI Perjuangan, attended the launch of Erros Djarot's autobiographies, volumes 2 and 3, at the Gedung Kesenian Jakarta on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

The event, produced by M. Anis, featured a book discussion moderated by senior journalist Bambang Harymurti. The gathering brought together various national figures, including former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono. Other attendees included members of the Soekarno family, such as Puti Guntur Soekarno and Romy Soekarno, as well as Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno.

In addition to the literary discussion, the event included musical performances by artists such as Once Mekel, Balawan, and Dira Sugandi. The book launch emphasized a central message from Erros Djarot regarding the importance of truth, stating, "Deliver the truth even if it is painful. Before the truth you hide eats away at your mind and soul forever."
