Megawati Soekarnoputri emphasizes integrity and courage alongside intelligence

Megawati Soekarnoputri, the 5th President of Indonesia and Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan, addressed thousands of young people during the Merah Muda Fest 2026 in Jakarta. She asserted that intellectual intelligence and extensive knowledge are meaningless without courage and moral integrity.

During her speech, Megawati highlighted a perceived decline in integrity among highly educated individuals in Indonesia, noting that many possess high intelligence but lack the moral fortitude to stand by the truth. She urged the younger generation to combine technological advancement with human values, emphasizing the need for honesty, discipline, and a commitment to fighting injustice and supporting the underprivileged.
