Meghalaya CM discusses development financing at national conference

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma participated in the Conference of State Finance Ministers and Finance Secretaries held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the two-day event focused on ‘Financing India’s Journey towards Viksit Bharat’.

The conference addressed various policy priorities, including public finance reforms, innovative financing mechanisms, agricultural transformation, energy transition, technology, and the measurement of growth through Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).

Sangma noted that these themes align with Meghalaya’s ‘Mission 10’ transformation agenda. This initiative aims to strengthen infrastructure, support livelihoods and enterprises, and build a resilient, sustainable economy to meet the state’s 2032 development vision.
