Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong inaugurated the East Khasi Hills District Portal (dc‑ekh.in) on 29 July 2026 in Shillong at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The digital platform allows citizens to raise grievances at the individual, village and community levels and includes an online tracking system so complainants can monitor the progress of their cases.

Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal, who conceptualised the portal, said residents can submit complaints via the website, through Gram Sevaks, by post or directly at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Described as the first district‑level grievance redressal portal in Meghalaya, the initiative is intended to serve as a model for other districts and is part of a broader push for digital governance, including recent directives for District Transport Offices to facilitate grassroots issuance of driving licences.
