Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, made a solo public appearance at a special screening of the documentary Cookie Queens in Los Angeles on July 28, 2024. The film, which follows four Girl Scouts as they compete in the $800 million cookie‑selling season, was co‑executive‑produced by Markle and Prince Harry through Archewell Productions. At the event she answered audience questions and recalled advice from Harry, a former British Army helicopter pilot: “Even if there’s a storm above the storm, the sun’s always shining.”

Observers noted that Markle wore a white outfit with Hermès sandals, kept her wedding band but did not wear the engagement ring Harry gave her in 2017. Earlier in the week she also visited a Girl Scout camp in Ojai, California, where she hosted an advance screening of the same documentary and posed for photos with campers and director Alysa Nahmias.
