Meghan Markle guest judges MasterChef Australia episode
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, will appear as a guest judge on an upcoming episode of MasterChef Australia. Network 10 announced that she will join judges Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin and Jean‑Christophe Novelli on July 26, when the episode airs at 7 p.m. local time. Markle will set a challenge for the remaining contestants to create dishes using seasonal Australian ingredients such as carrots, Jerusalem artichokes, Brussels sprouts, celeriac, local honey, macadamia nuts, quince, lemons, apples, mandarins and strawberries, encouraging them to link the food to personal stories.
The appearance marks Markle’s first visit to Australia since 2018 and follows her recent Netflix lifestyle series and food‑product line. Social media reaction has been mixed, with some viewers calling for a boycott while others welcome her involvement. The episode also features cameo appearances by Australian personalities Robert Irwin and Jimmy Barnes, recalling a 2018 surprise cameo by Prince Charles on the same show.
