Speculation regarding Meghan Markle’s potential return to acting has intensified following reports concerning her involvement in the third season of Netflix’s crime drama, ‘The Gentlemen’.

Conflicting reports have emerged regarding the status of her casting. Some sources, including royal biographer Tina Brown, suggest that negotiations were withdrawn due to intense backlash in the United Kingdom. Conversely, other insiders claim that Markle’s name was merely one of many floated by director Guy Ritchie during preliminary creative discussions and that no concrete casting decisions were ever made. Some reports suggest the rumors may have been intentionally leaked by her representatives to signal her availability for work.

When asked about the rumors at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Netflix’s UK scripted chief Manda Levin provided a cryptic response, stating, “All bets are off,” without confirming or denying Markle’s involvement. This follows Markle’s 2022 statement to Variety where she expressed an intention to move away from acting after her departure from the series ‘Suits’.
