Meghan Markle uses royal jewelry to pay tribute to Princess Diana

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, has utilized fashion and accessories to make stylistic statements and pay tribute to royal history. During a recent appearance at the David Foster Foundation’s 40th Anniversary Celebration in Canada, she wore a black one-shoulder gown paired with diamond and sapphire butterfly-shaped earrings previously owned by Princess Diana.

Princess Diana wore the same earrings during a 1986 trip to Canada. Meghan has also worn the jewelry during tours in Australia and Colombia. In addition to the earrings, she is reported to possess other items from Diana’s collection, including a diamond tennis bracelet, a Cartier Tank Louis watch, and an aquamarine ring.

In a previous interview, Meghan noted that her choice of clothing and accessories is a way to convey meaning without words, often gravitating toward tonal dressing for a timeless and streamlined appearance.
