Meghna Gulzar discusses upbringing with superstar parents

Filmmaker Meghna Gulzar has shared insights into her upbringing as the daughter of celebrated actress Rakhee Gulzar and veteran lyricist Gulzar. Speaking during promotions for her upcoming film ‘Daayra’, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Kareena Kapoor Khan, Gulzar stated that despite her parents' immense fame, her childhood was remarkably normal.

She noted that her parents remained grounded at home, acting as typical parents. Gulzar mentioned that her mother would scold and discipline her like any other parent, while her father often pampered her. She explained that because of this environment, she does not view her parents through the lens of their public personas or feel the same sense of awe that fans experience, though she respects the impact they have on the public.
