Megyn Kelly criticizes Whoopi Goldberg over salary comments

Megyn Kelly has criticized Whoopi Goldberg following comments Goldberg made regarding her salary on the ABC talk show ‘The View’. During an appearance on the ‘Baby, This Is Keke Palmer’ podcast, Goldberg stated that her paycheck would “shock” listeners and noted that her favorite part of the job is “the check.”

Kelly responded on her own podcast, calling Goldberg a “fool” for the comments. Kelly noted that regardless of whether Goldberg was implying her salary was excessively high or unexpectedly low, the remarks were problematic. Kelly cited reporting from journalist Yashar Ali, which suggested Goldberg earns approximately $6 million per year.

Kelly further criticized Goldberg for framing herself as a “common person who works for a living,” suggesting the comments were either unlikable or out of touch with the reality of her professional standing in the media industry.
