Mehdi Benatia offered himself to AC Milan for leadership role

AC Milan is considering Mehdi Benatia as a candidate for a new leadership role within the club’s sporting organization. Following a disappointing 2025-26 season that saw the club finish fifth and miss Champions League qualification, Milan has undergone significant management changes. Former executives, including CEO Giorgio Furlani and Sporting Director Iglu Tare, were dismissed, with Ruben Amorim taking over as coach.

Benatia, a former defender for clubs such as Juventus and Bayern Munich, most recently served as the sporting director for Marseille. According to reports, Benatia has expressed his full availability to return to Italy and has offered himself to Milan. The club's leadership, led by Cardinale, is currently evaluating candidates to strengthen the existing sporting structure.
