Mehdi Taremi joins Al Wasl from Olympiacos

Iranian national team striker Mehdi Taremi has officially joined the UAE club Al Wasl from Greek side Olympiacos. The 34-year-old forward moves to Dubai to play under Portuguese manager Rui Vitória.

Taremi leaves Greece after a productive season in which he scored 16 goals and provided 6 assists in 39 appearances for Olympiacos. Although he had one year remaining on his contract with the Greek club, Al Wasl reached an agreement to secure his transfer.

This move marks Taremi’s return to Asian football. He joins a growing number of Iranian internationals playing in the UAE Pro League, including players at Shabab Al Ahli and Al Nasr. Al Wasl aims to strengthen its attacking line for both domestic league competition and the upcoming AFC Champions League Elite tournament.
