Mehdi Taromi poised for Persepolis move as Olympiakos plans exit
Iranian striker Mehdi Taromi, currently on Olympiakos' roster, has been identified as a main candidate for departure. Deputy of Olympiakos Kostas Karapapas stated that Taromi "is not a main player for us" and that the club intends to list one or two forwards for sale this summer.
Persepolis FC, backed by Bank Shahr and its chairman Ahmadī, have expressed strong interest in signing Taromi, indicating they are ready to meet any financial demand. While Taromi has said he prefers to continue playing in Europe, he also has a modest offer from Brazil's Vasco da Gama and interest from Uruguayan forward Luciano Rodrigues.
If Taromi were to return to Iran, the deal would represent a major transfer for Persian football, potentially reshaping Persepolis' attacking options.
