Mehmet Şahin discusses ‘Terror-Free Turkey’ initiative in Kahramanmaraş

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Şahin, AK Party Kahramanmaraş Deputy and member of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission, delivered a conference titled ‘Terror-Free Turkey’ at İstiklal Science and Technology University (İBTÜ).

During the event, Şahin addressed the economic and social impacts of terrorism on Turkey and emphasized that the goal of a terror-free nation must be evaluated alongside regional security. He noted a direct link between Turkey’s security and the stability of its neighbors, specifically mentioning the importance of monitoring developments in Syria and Iraq to mitigate ethnic or sectarian divisions.

Şahin stated that the ongoing processes regarding the ‘Terror-Free Turkey’ initiative are progressing more positively than expected. He also commented on the future of İBTÜ, suggesting the university has the potential to become a significant institution in the fields of aviation and defense industries.
