Mehmet Akalın responds to Fatma Aksal over field presence claims

İYİ Party Edirne Deputy Mehmet Akalın has issued a sharp response to AK Party Edirne Deputy Fatma Aksal following her claims regarding field presence. Aksal previously stated that she is in the field twice as much as the other three deputies combined.

Akalın criticized this stance, arguing that engaging with citizens is a fundamental responsibility of a deputy rather than a personal achievement to be presented as a favor. He further challenged Aksal’s claims by citing parliamentary records, noting that his own activity includes 198 General Assembly speeches and 103 written questions, whereas Aksal’s records show only 3 General Assembly speeches and zero written questions.

Akalın also addressed agricultural issues, claiming that villages are being emptied and farmers are struggling under current policies, questioning what Aksal has actually accomplished for the constituents in the regions she visits.
