Mehmet Canbolat saves 3-year-old child in İzmir

In the Bornova district of İzmir, Mehmet Canbolat, the Muhtar (neighborhood head) of Atatürk Mahallesi, saved the life of a 3-year-old child by performing the Heimlich maneuver. The incident occurred at the local muhtarlık office while a family was conducting official business.

According to reports, the child choked on a piece of candy and began to lose breath and turn blue. While the child's mother panicked, Canbolat noticed the distress while working on paperwork. Utilizing first aid training he had previously received, he took the child and successfully dislodged the candy.

Following the incident, Canbolat emphasized the critical importance of first aid education for all citizens to prevent irreversible accidents. He also announced that the distribution of candy is now prohibited within the muhtarlık office to ensure such hazards are avoided in the future.
