Mehmet Dursun: The founder and Chairman of Armine

Mehmet Dursun, the Chairman of the Board of Armine, has shared details regarding his professional background and the founding of his brand. Born in 1971 in the Üsküdar district of Istanbul, Dursun grew up in a family of four siblings that had migrated from the Black Sea region to Istanbul.

Dursun’s career was shaped by the textile and scarf sectors. After gaining experience in design and working in the scarf industry in Osmanbey, he founded Armine in 1989. He noted that before the brand was established, products were sold under the name ‘İpek Eşarp’. Dursun spent approximately six months searching for a memorable, international name, eventually choosing ‘Armine’ to establish a global identity. The company has since evolved into a family business specializing in scarves and women's clothing.
